Multimatic is seeking a Program Manager who will improve profitability and competitiveness of the company by ensuring timeliness and continuous improvement in current and future programs, and will track and maintain correspondence with customers and appropriate departments to achieve customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all aspects of program management for specific programs as outlined by the General Manager or designated person, up to and including prototypes, pre-production samples, production start-up, customer launch and monitoring the overall program throughout production
  • Responsible for all engineering changes to your specific programs
  • Ensure that product is being manufactured to all engineering/customer and manufacturing specifications
  • Ensure that all drawings, etc., are up to date, making sure that all customer requirements and specifications are met
  • Responsible for keeping the communication lines open between the various departments, including production, tool room quality assurance, and engineering . This also includes communicating with associates at other Multimatic divisions, as necessary
  • Responsible for keeping Management informed on a regular basis as to the status of the programs directly related to you
  • Investigate, analyze, and present cost saving proposals to management and then to customer
  • Perform engineering and manufacturing feasibility studies
  • Prepare internal quotes for new/existing programs and all engineering changes; submit for review/approvals; prepare customer breakdowns and review for completeness
  • Analyze rejected quotes for improvements for future quotes, complete and act upon quote vs. actual comparisons
  • Establish program timing parameters and ensure schedules are maintained
  • Work with Process Engineer and related department managers/supervisors to plan and implement new or revised process flows for improving plant layout and efficiencies
  • Dedicate your efforts towards maximizing the profitability of the company
  • Work in compliance with ISO 14001 / TS16949 standards
  • Track program through impeccable maintenance of quote log, quote spreadsheet, feasibility forms, meeting minutes, task assignments, timelines, cost trackers, gate reviews, capital spending and tooling investment
  • Issue ECN’s and conduct kick-off meetings
  • Frequent travel as requested by company or customer

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • College or university degree in mechanical engineering, tool and die experience and/or tool and die design
  • 10 years' experience in either engineering or tooling with an automotive background
  • Excellent problem solving techniques required
  • Training in: SPC, DFMEA / PFMEA, GD&T, APQP & PPAP, Effective Problem Solving & 8D, DOE
  • Familiarity with company and customer quality systems
