Race Team Electrical Technician

Position Overview:

The Ford Performance/Chip Ganassi Racing Team is a two-car World Endurance Championship (WEC) organization operated by Multimatic Motorsports Europe (a division of Multimatic Inc.).

The Team is seeking to recruit a full time Race Team Electrical Technician to be responsible for Ford GT build and management of electrical harnesses and sensors.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Meet demands for harness production for WEC and IMSA race programme
  • Produce drawings for all electrical sensors and harnesses
  • Maintain electrical and electronics stock for WEC race and test programme
  • Provide good communication with engineering team to ensure all electrical demands are met
  • Order parts as and when appropriate
  • Liaise with external suppliers

Education & Experience Requirement:

Motorsports experience preferred. Applicant requirements:

  • Termination of Autosport, Deutsch and Souriau connectors
  • Ability to manufacture using Raychem (Tyco) System 25 standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex schematics and drawings
  • Experience with contra-helical laid wiring
  • Previous experience with System 25 products – heat shrink moulded boots and tubing
  • Use of splicing, crimp and solder
  • Good understanding of MS Office programs, including MS Visio
  • Ability to produce schematics and drawings for electrical harnesses and sensors
  • Preferred ability to design new harnesses
  • Willing to work extra hours in order to meet motorsport demands

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key for this role. Must have the ability to take ownership of and manage electrical parts.

Salary depends on experience. 20 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays. Pension scheme available.
