Anton Manufacturing is a production facility of Multimatic Inc. and is a leading supplier of stampings, hinges, door checks and mechatronic products to the North American automotive industry. Anton Mfg. uses flexible production systems that allow rapid product changeovers, helping drive manufacturing efficiency.

Multimatic Anton is currently looking for a Materials Manager who will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the Materials function to ensure that the needs of the customer are met. This member of the Management team plays an important role in the company’s commitment to supplying superior quality parts, on time, to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor overall procedures, methods, projects, policies, and programs designed to improve MRP control efficiency and company profitability
  • Advise other department managers of any potential problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Meet or exceed all objectives/requirements of the business plan.
  • Follow up on correspondence with Anton’s Customers and Suppliers as required.
  • Utilize MRP software system to aid in the scheduling of manufactured parts and outside processing vendors
  • Provides and/or receives information as to when our customer’s deliveries will be increasing or decreasing and when vacation shut downs will occur.
  • Closely monitor Vendors or Suppliers delivery methods or requirements and receive information to any occurrences of interrupted delivery schedules and premium freight.
  • Ensure good working relationships are maintained with vendors and suppliers to ensure continued good will and smooth inter-company transactions
  • Aid in the sourcing of all materials, components, outside processes, and contracts.
  • Maintain the confidentially of the company and its business.
  • Inventory control
  • Constantly monitor industry pricing and product cost in order to maintain the best possible overall profitability for the company.
  • Keep informed on the latest changes to Customs Procedures and inform other department and employees, especially in regards to NAFTA and the Automotive Trade Agreement
  • In the event of receiving a customer concern (verbal or electronic), issues customer/concern report
  • Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety rules and housekeeping principals. Ensure substandard conditions and practices identified in monthly plant safety audits are corrected.
  • Works in compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Community College Diploma or a University Degree. A professional designation in either Materials or Purchasing ( CPIM or APIC)
  • (7) Seven to (10) Ten years Materials or Purchasing experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of Purchasing and MRP systems.
  • Must have experience with SAP
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees both within the organization and with, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
  • Supervisory skills in the area of, Interaction and Communication, Orientation, Company Policies, Absenteeism, Negotiation.
  • Strong computer skills in the area of: Manufacturing Control Systems, Windows, MS Office programs, etc.
