Position Overview:

Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is part of the Multimatic Engineering Group. MNVNA is a new facility, responsible for the production of the 2017 Ford GT.

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America is seeking a Material Control Associate to be part of an elite team responsible for materials management related to the production of Ford's GT supercar. Reporting to the General Manager in an exciting and fast pacing vehicle production facility, you will be responsible for controlling all the storage activities with an accurate monitoring system (material in/out). You will also be responsible for protection and security of the stored goods up until their installation as well as for monitoring stock levels in order to avoid production stoppage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all relevant company policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
  • Ensure a safe and efficient working environment, identifying and reporting potential and/or existing workplace hazards to Management in order to prevent possible injuries
  • Goods receiving, handling, shipping and logging of inventory materials through the company’s computer modules
  • Check all materials when they arrive on site in accordance with company’s procedures, and ensuring their immediately integration into stock
  • Ensure all stocks are maintained in “First in, First out - FIFO” manner
  • Monitor expiry date on shelf life critical items
  • Review levels of inventory in order to identify expired or obsolete material and take appropriate action
  • Work closely with the logistics coordinator to ensure material delivery as scheduled
  • Immediately inform the purchasing team when requested material has reached minimal stock levels
  • Take charge of loading/ unloading of all material from delivery trucks and move materials to designated receiving area in a timely fashion
  • Protect all delivered goods on site in order to avoid damage
  • Ensure the security of the storage area and keep area secured at all time
  • Ensure best ethical practices are enforced within all project activities

Training is provided as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduated, diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in equivalent position in warehousing field
  • Receiving and shipping experience is preferred
  • Reliable and devoted to the interest of the company
  • Computer literacy, especially MS Office
  • Writing skills and conversational ability in English
  • Capability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Good planning, organizing and integration skills
  • Strong ability to build teamwork in an efficient and safe working atmosphere
  • Problem solve with a realistic can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • A forklift license and previous experience with SAP is an asset
