Position Overview:

Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC), located in Markham, Ontario, is a division of Multimatic Inc. MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s automotive parts manufacturing divisions while also providing contract engineering services to a variety of customers. The facility has design, analysis, testing, prototype, composites, and motorsports departments.

MTC has experienced tremendous growth since its inception, achieved through the skill and dedication of our employees.

Scope of Position:

Multimatic seeks an entry-level Staff Accountant, assisting the Controller in increasing company profitability by studying and improving the systems which track and report financial data, and by creating, studying and improving the systems that drive, interpret and analyze management information systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for invoicing of Divisional and Third-Party sales
  • Responsible for assisting in month-end activities
  • Responsible for maintaining Accounts Receivable sub-ledger
  • Responsible for assisting Accounts Payables with various tasks
  • Responsible for assisting with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Assist Department Managers and the General Manager with financial and operational information
  • Provide Reception coverage during mornings/afternoons and backup during vacation/leaves
  • Assist with the coordination of year-end activities
  • Assist in preparing government reports; e.g. HST returns
  • Assist with the development of annual business planning
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts and activities
  • Participate in GEAR activities to meet corporate goals
  • Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties as required (e.g. special projects)

Basic Requirements:

  • 2nd – 3rd Level CGA, or equivalent with post-secondary degree/diploma
  • Minimum two years' accounting experience; experience in manufacturing or engineering would be an asset
  • Computer literacy and excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees, and above average written and oral communication skills
