SUMMARY

This is a hybrid position, meaning the role is a combination of maintenance, controls & robotics. This person will support our press area, in which the technology in our presses is exclusively unique to Multimatic New Haven. No other facility has this technology in North America.  This hybrid position will focus on robotic manufacturing equipment that utilizes several small ovens, presses, and plasma cells including all preventative maintenance programs by performing the following duties within an automotive environment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports Press production operations.
  • Troubleshoot robotic programs and modify/adjust as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace various types of electrical controls, drives, communications, wiring, robot paths etc.
  • Ability to comprehend PLC logic and its relationship to the robot’s programming (DESIRED)
  • Ability to comprehend field devices such as vision systems, fieldbus systems, safety components, and their relationships to the PLC and robots. (DESIRED
  • Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required.
  • Effectively train, coach and mentor other Technicians to improve their skills. (IDEALLY)
  • Perform all preventative maintenance requirements as scheduled.
  • Have mechanical aptitude that compliments electrical capabilities.
  • Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation.
  • Assist in keeping a spare parts inventory.
  • Have a professional customer service attitude and ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED, and 2-4 years' experience.in automotive environment preferred.
