Position Overview

Multimatic Indiana - New Haven has an opening for; Robotic Tech Specialist - 2nd shift. Selected individual will drive automation (PLCs & robotics) activity for optimized production. The successful candidate(s) will also be required to help maintain manufacturing equipment, building facilities, and support all preventative maintenance programs.

SUMMARY

Supports robotic manufacturing equipment (Robotic Trumpf Lasers, Robotic Weld Cells & Robotic Hot Forming Presses) including all preventative maintenance programs by performing the following duties within an automotive environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot robotic programs and modify/adjust as needed
  • Create robotic programs from scratch as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical controls, drives, communications, wiring, robot paths etc.
  • Use laptop and various software programs and network interfaces to communicate with equipment
  • Ability to comprehend PLC logic and its relationship to the robot’s programming
  • Ability to comprehend field devices such as vision systems, fieldbus systems, safety components, and their relationships to the PLC and robots
  • Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required
  • Effectively train, coach and mentor other Technicians to improve their skills
  • Perform all preventative maintenance requirements as scheduled
  • Have mechanical aptitude that compliments electrical capabilities
  • Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation
  • Support of Production as and when required
  • Assist in keeping a spare parts inventory
  • Have a professional customer service attitude and ability to communicate with all levels of associates
  • Additional responsibilities may be added when necessary

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; 2 years electrical training or Journeyman’s certification or 5 years experience.in automotive environment preferred.
