Multimatic is a global automotive supply company providing hardware and engineering services to OEMs around the world. Multimatic Niche Manufacturing (MNMUK) is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor to support the night shift. This role involves supervising and managing the machine shop for component manufacture.

POSITION SUMMARY:
To supervise and manage the Flexible Manufacturing Line for component manufacture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide Supervisory support for the Flexible Manufacturing Line (FML) and the Production Manager, Including assigning tasks to the team members, Appraisals, Reviews, and training as necessary.
2. Assist in organising the FML resource with the Production Team to meet customer requirements and completing departmental objectives.
3. Provide FML Schedule Status Updates as required by Management or Project Coordinators.
4. Management of project timeline requirements in relation to external demands.
5. Report on Departmental Issues to Management.
6. Assist in all the Machines Preventative Maintenance Program.
7. Identify, Organise and assist in the purchase of new machinery as necessary.
8. Ensure all Process flows and Process card procedures and information is in conformance with QA and Project Administration requirements.
9. Assist with maintaining the FML area as a clean and safe working environment.
10. Participate in R&D activities as required.
11. Supports all company and department activities associated with meeting the goal in the “Presidents Message”.
12. Adopts and practices Kaizen principles and concepts, participates in continuous improvement and GEAR activities.
13. Follows all general procedures as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level 3 Procedures Manual.
14. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014).
15. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
16. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in workshop management
  • HND or relevant experience in production assembly
  • Management and leadership skills with proven track record of staff training and developing
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • 5S and/or Kaizen knowledge
