Multimatic is a global automotive supply company providing hardware and engineering services to OEMs around the world. Multimatic Niche Manufacturing (MNMUK) is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor to support the night shift. This role involves supervising and managing the machine shop for component manufacture.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Provide Supervisory support for the Machine Shop night shift, day shift supervisor and the Production Manager, with training as necessary.
  2. Assist in organising the Machine Shop resource with the MS Production Team to meet Project Requirements and completing departmental objectives.
  3. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, with Providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and productive work.
  4. Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to progress toward project completion
  5. Management of project timeline requirements in relation to external demands
  6. Report on Departmental Issues to Management
  7. Ensure all Process flows and Process card procedures and information is in conformance with QA and Project Administration requirements.
  8. Assist with maintaining the Machine Shop as a clean and safe working environment
  9. Supports all company and department activities associated with meeting the goal in the “Presidents Message”
  10. Adopts and practices Kaizen principles and concepts, participates in continuous improvement and GEAR activities.
  11. Follows all general procedures as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level 3 Procedures Manual.
  12. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014).
  13. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  14. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  1. 3-5 years’ experience in workshop management
  2. Relevant experience in Engineering
  3. Shown Management and leadership skills
  4. Proven track record of staff training and developing
  5. Extensive knowledge of CNC machine both programming and operating Mills and Lathes
  6. CAD CAM Programming experience beneficial
  7. Full understand of engineer drawings, models and all relevant manufacturing techniques
  8. Lean manufacturing experience
  9. 5S and or Kaizen knowledge
