Position Overview:

Multimatic Technical Centre ("MTC"), located in Markham, Ontario, is a division of Multimatic Inc. MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions while also providing contracted engineering services to a variety of customers. The facility has design, analysis, testing, prototype, composites, and motorsports departments.

MTC has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. This growth was achieved through the skill and dedication of our employees. MTC has an industry-leading prototype development center that relies on its highly talented and skilled staff.

Our prototype development center is looking for a Tool and Die Apprentice who will be responsible for supporting journeyman Tool and Die makers while working towards their certification. The candidate must have a good work ethic and a positive attitude, with a willingness to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Tool and Die Maker journeymen in all tasks of tool making
  • Attend required training courses at a recognized college
  • Attain certification as a Tool and Die Maker
  • Ensure that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery are met
  • Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks
  • Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean and organized
  • Ensure adequate communication with other program team members
  • Maintain accurate time sheets
  • Observe all company safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Foster good employee relations
  • Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate

Education and Experience:

  • Grade 12 education, or equivalent
  • Graduate of 2-year college program in Tool and Die, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working as a Tool and Die Apprentice
  • Registered as a Tool and Die Apprentice
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
