Job Duties:
Responsible for acting as global technical liaison between the external customers (OEMs) and internal customers, Multimatic Technical Center (MTC) and the Industrial Groups (IG); utilize vast systems level expertise and automotive industry know-how to support the design, industrialization and commercial viability of our active mechanism products; collaboratively develop strategies to achieve differentiating value offerings for our customers; provide VAVE recommendations for the Active Mechanism products to our internal and external customers; utilize automotive product development knowledge/process, including CAD, DFMEA, GD&T, APQP, SPC, DFM, DFA, and DFSS, and manufacturing engineering experience/processes, including PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, DOE, and MSA to perform duties; create and present technical presentations for customer meetings; mentor and educate MPS Product Engineers and Technical Sales Mangers on technical attributes of our active mechanisms products; perform and guide global benchmarking activities; and provide input to the Active Mechanism product and global customer strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Training: None;
Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Chief Engineer, as a Director of Engineering, as a Director of Mechatronic Systems, as an Engineering Manager, as a New Business Development and Platform Manager, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include five (5) years’ use of all the following: CAD, APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, DOE, MSA, GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and DFA.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Location: Novi, MI and multiple undetermined locations throughout the US;
