Position Overview:

The Ford Performance/Chip Ganassi Racing Team is a two-car World Endurance Championship (WEC) organization operated by Multimatic Motorsports Europe (a division of Multimatic Inc.).

The Team is seeking to recruit a Buyer/Purchaser to manage day-to-day purchasing activities and utilize buying power to maintain quality at optimal cost. The Buyer will oversee purchase of a variety of race car components and be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating, sourcing locally/globally, planning and forecasting inventory levels. The successful candidate will be required to manage purchase orders and requisitions, and work cross-functionally with engineering, SQA and other business activities to identify cost-saving opportunities. In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must have proven experience in the motorsport industry.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Negotiating purchases of finished race car components and systems
  • Building and maintaining a supply base while focusing on supplier development
  • Conducting component count in stores when necessary
  • Reconciling balance of components and making necessary adjustments
  • Assisting in maintaining an accurate BOM and reporting issues, shortage of material etc.
  • Making recommendations to purchase material in a 'just-in-time' environment

Education & Experience Requirement:

The ideal candidate for this role must have 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing electrical and mechanical automotive components and systems in a motorsport environment. Must have experience in managing purchase orders, requisitions, and possess strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key for this role. Must have the ability to take ownership and manage the purchasing process from end to end. This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset towards purchasing.
