The Position
We are looking for individuals to fill the role of Shipper/Receiver who will receive and ship goods, and carry out associated duties in a responsible and efficient manner, all in accordance with established Company and customer standards. The candidate must have a good work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving
- Unload trucks
- Check condition of goods
- Verify shipment to documentation from carrier
- Verify shipment to purchase order
- Log shipment and notify purchaser of goods arrival
- Create receiving documentation when not available
- Compile and forward all receiving documentation
Shipping
- Confer with logistics personnel on daily carrier schedule
- Package goods appropriately for shipping
- Accurately measure and weigh shipments
- Create shipping labels and/or bar codes, where applicable
- Prepare shipping reports and maintain shipping log
- Acquire and forward all necessary customs paperwork for shipment
- Log all shipments
General
- Maintain a clean/tidy and organized work area
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles and concepts
- Participate in Kaizen activities including the Company’s GEAR program
- Work in compliance and conform to all standards and regulations
- Follow all general procedures and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2-year experience in shipping and receiving
- Must possess a valid lift-truck certification
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Basic computer experience (MRP system)
- Must be self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision
- Able to work in a very busy environment
- Material handling experience
