Press Operator

The Position
We are looking for individuals to fill the role of Press Operator. The successful candidates will be part of a skilled team responsible for running presses and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate presses to complete jobs according to schedule
- Conduct all regular checks while the press is running
- Complete daily production sheets and other paperwork as required in a timely manner
- Check and change heat code & date stamp as required
- Pull die/stamp when job is complete or as required
- Ensure bins are accurately tagged
- Conduct regular safety checks on presses
- Maintain a clean/tidy and organized work area
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles and concepts
- Participate in Kaizen activities including the Company’s GEAR program
- Work in compliance and conform to all standards and regulations
- Follow all general procedures and policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 years of related experience in a press shop is an asset
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to program new tooling parameters into feeding equipment
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Comfortable working in a high-paced environment and with standing for extended periods
