SUMMARY

Experience in set up, trouble shooting and operation of applicable welding equipment, consumables, electrical and mechanical systems, robot systems and any related components associated with our welding process.  Initiates and implements process improvements as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES       

  • Evaluate, implement and monitor welding processes and operating systems for continuous improvement.
  • Support new product design for integration to the production floor.
  • Specify and assist in the purchase or upgrade of capital investments in equipment.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Provide weld training, testing and instruction as necessary.
  • Provide floor support for welding processes, weld technicians, repair welders and repair areas.
  • Assist Quality department in maintaining weld integrity and craftsmanship.
  • Establish weld process parameters, recording methodology adhering to internal and customer requirements and audit periodically.
  • Performs other functions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Individuals with related Bachelor of Science and minimum of two years of related experience or related Associates in Applied Science and minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Robotic welding experience is a must (example; ABB, Motoman, etc.)
  • Understanding of electrical controls circuitry and schematics.
  • 3 to 5 years manufacturing of metal goods
  • Working knowledge of MIG and Resistance welding processes. AHSS steels and HFI experience is a plus
  • Results oriented, Ability to take a hands on approach with strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work will with others, organized with good communication skills in a fast paced work environment.
  • AWS certification is a plus
  • Must be literate with PC and Office products.
