Maintenance Engineer

Location: Multimatic EU-Matic, Coventry, West Midlands, United Kingdom

Scope of role:

Provide all departments with safe , well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults using Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical Skills.
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment breakdowns
  • Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
  • Keep machinery at a correct standards
  • Liaise with other departments and other engineering and production colleagues
  • Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
  • Carry out planned, reactive and predictive maintenance to ensure continuous running of machinery
  • Work with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines
  • Responsible for completion of necessary paperwork including work orders / time sheets / shift handovers
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line
  • Fill out parts used forms in tool crib to ensure stock levels remain correct
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean tidy and organized work area (5s standard)
  • Complete assigned standard work activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement program 

Key areas of Authority:

  • Ensure the Areas of the Business Plan are met in accordance with the framework of the company
  • Follow company procedures and policies as stated in the employees hand book
  • Stop any process where safety or quality issues are identified

Basic Requirements:

  • Apprentice or company Trained with Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of employees within a multicultural environment.
  • Understanding of IATF16949 requirements and procedures would be an asset.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Experience in Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Mechanical systems
  • Basic Electrical & plc knowledge
  • Computer literate including microsoft word / excel
