Maintenance Engineer
Location: Multimatic EU-Matic, Coventry, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Scope of role:
Provide all departments with safe , well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults using Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical Skills.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment breakdowns
- Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
- Keep machinery at a correct standards
- Liaise with other departments and other engineering and production colleagues
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Carry out planned, reactive and predictive maintenance to ensure continuous running of machinery
- Work with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines
- Responsible for completion of necessary paperwork including work orders / time sheets / shift handovers
- Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line
- Fill out parts used forms in tool crib to ensure stock levels remain correct
- Responsible for maintaining a clean tidy and organized work area (5s standard)
- Complete assigned standard work activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement program
Key areas of Authority:
- Ensure the Areas of the Business Plan are met in accordance with the framework of the company
- Follow company procedures and policies as stated in the employees hand book
- Stop any process where safety or quality issues are identified
Basic Requirements:
- Apprentice or company Trained with Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge
- Must be able to interact with all levels of employees within a multicultural environment.
- Understanding of IATF16949 requirements and procedures would be an asset.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Experience in Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Mechanical systems
- Basic Electrical & plc knowledge
- Computer literate including microsoft word / excel
