Engineering Manager - Automotive
Location: Multimatic Niche Vehicles NA, Markham, Ontario, Canada

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is part of the Multimatic Niche Vehicles Group, and is a world-class facility responsible for production of the Ford GT supercar.
Position Overview:
The Engineering Manager is a leadership role, overseeing all aspects of engineering-related processes and ensuring these processes are aligned with customer requirements, as well as Multimatic’s organizational strategic direction and annual business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and support successful launch and operation of all programs within the scope of the facility
- Work closely with internal departments to successfully launch new products and continuous improvement projects
- Work closely with other Multimatic divisions (including Engineering, Motorsports and Manufacturing) to be the voice of the production plant during product design and development phases
- Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets; recommend allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals
- Play a key role in anticipating, escalating and mitigating potential risks
- Ensure quality of deliverables, manage the achievement of project deliverables at program milestones, and facilitate customer sign-off at gateway stages
- Act as a primary point of communication interface with the customer for the respective program
- Develop plant engineering processes to support production and production supporting processes
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality and cost to maintain profitability
- Oversee the development of staff skills & competence to support existing and upcoming projects
- Develop, implement and improve policies, standards and procedures for the engineering department
- Weekly and monthly reporting of departmental metrics
- Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with automotive Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM is a must
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in an engineering position in the automotive industry
- Experience in managing a team of engineering and project management staff
- Experience in managing a program from initial design to production launch
- Must be able to read and fully interpret Engineering Drawings, Standards and Dimensional reports (applicable GD&T knowledge preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and all levels of internal staff
- Computer proficiency is required (specifically in MS Office tools - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project; Experience with CAD software preferred)
Work Environment:
- The position is on-site, full-time salaried in a fast-paced work environment
- Combination of office and plant floor
- Infrequent travel may be required to visit customer and supplier facilities
