IT Technical Support Analyst - Technical Solutions

OVERVIEW:

Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems.

We are currently seeking an IT Technical Support Analyst for our corporate office in Markham. This position will involve travel and will normally work onsite at our Markham location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A detail-oriented, thorough, and organized IT Technical Support Analyst to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in providing support for all areas of IT.  You will be responsible for system updates, troubleshooting problems, and providing hands-on support for IT issues within our organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance to users both in an office/plant environment and when traveling/remote.
  • Assist and guide users in the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, software installation, e-mail, and operating systems.
  • Provide hardware and software acquisition recommendations, including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and/or services.
  • Provide support for Local Area Networks (LAN) and WAN to the Infrastructure and Operations team.
  • Maintain computer inventory and yearly IT budgets.
  • Monitor/maintain/support local networks to ensure the highest availability to all users.
  • Maintain local servers – Backups, monthly patching & upgrades as required
  • Maintain VMware & tape backup infrastructure.
  • Will work with senior level network support personal and client server specialists when implementing new corporate rollouts of Hardware/Software.
  • After-hours/weekend work as required.


Additional duties include

:

  • Maintaining a Nortel/Avaya phone system. This will include new user setup.
  • Provide limited support with corporate SAP system and in house developed applications.
  • Additional IT related tasks as requested by Management.


Required Skills/Education:

  • Excellent English communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Excellent customer service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Manufacturing experience - automotive is preferred.
  • Able to work independently but within an extended team structure.
  • At least 3 years working experience within an IT related environment as follows: -
  • Microsoft - Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2016, Exchange 2013, Windows 7/10, Office, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, TEAMS, SharePoint Online).
  • Hewlett Packard & CISCO – VMWare, Switches and Wireless Controllers and Access Points, Servers/Desktops/Laptops.
  • Familiarity of the following technologies will be an asset: -
  • Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL/My SQL Server, Avaya Telephony, JIRA ticketing system,
  • Intermec/Motorola handheld scanners, Label Printers e.g., Intermec,
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

Working Environment:

This position is in-office position.
