Sales Director - Damper Technology

Location: Multimatic Product Services, Novi, Michigan, United States

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Sales Organization as the Sales Director for our Damper Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the business development strategy and sales of the Multimatic Damper product line technology portfolio including the growth strategy and unique selling points
  • Provide engineering and account management support to business units and customers
  • Exchange engineering information between Multimatic, customer and customer teams
  • Lead and Develop internal Technical Service Managers and Product Engineers
  • Partner with production sites to ensure external customer project requirements are defined and executed
  • Participate and assist with cost saving initiatives to meet annual targets
  • Develop customer relationships and increase product line growth
  • Exchange engineering information between Multimatic, customer and customer teams
  • Knowledge and application of product pricing process and tiered supplier network
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts and activities
  • Ensure continuous improvement activity is developed and lessons learned discussions are provided with all business unit stakeholders
  • Perform special assignments as required

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor Degree Required in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering program
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry
  • Account management and full project cycle experience a plus
  • Experience in FEA, FMEA analysis and processes to troubleshoot and replicate problems
  • Experience in root cause analysis, product development and validation testing
  • Experience with ensuring compliance with design practices in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Knowledge of engineering tools and processes including, DVP & DFMEA, PPAP
  • Knowledge and application of Kaizen principles; 8D, 5-why, etc.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles
  • Production site experience is beneficial
  • Organized, with strong analytical skill and attentive to details
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic
  • Must be able to travel across international borders

  • Must have advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook software.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
