We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our busy Stores team. You will be responsible for organising import/export clearances, raising export documentation for overnight couriers and freight forwarders, arranging same day UK shipments & maintaining accurate record of Inbound and outbound shipments. You will be up to date with new procedures and legislations to ensure that shipments are not held in customs and shipping notifications are sent to relevant stakeholders. This role is also key in supporting the Stores and Logistics Manager to ensure that all shipping documents are kept in order for HMRC audits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Issuing Import clearance instructions to freight forwarders.
- Checking import entries & issuing post entry amendment instructions when required
- Proactively progress post entry amendment requests to a conclusion
- Maintaining import log (excel format)
- Monthly reconciliation of MSS data reports (import & export)
- Commodity classification (training would be provided on this part of the role.
- Raising export documentation (invoices, Pack Lists, EUR1 certs, etc) Issuing export instructions to freight forwarders and couriers
- Deal with any associated queries around export shipments
- Experience in exporting and importing within a manufacturing environment or from a freight forwarder background
- Knowledge of export, import and shipping procedures
- Knowledge or understanding of Customs entry documentation (Import & Export)
- A good standard of written and spoken English
- MS Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Accurate data entry skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- To be able to work in a team environment
- Working knowledge of SAP (training provided if required)
- Strong 'can do' attitude
- Archiving import & export documentation and working with various departments across the business to integrate Customs processes within the Logistics/Supply Chain
- Receive deliveries from couriers ensuring box count and paperwork match accordingly.
- Distribute deliveries to correct people / raise process cards for anything that needs inspecting.
- Process paperwork from the previous day and deliver it to the required office.
- Raise delivery notes and arrange shipments to customers as required.
- Work closely with the accounts team to quickly solve invoice queries and provide relevant back up.
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations
- Plan and track the shipment according to customer requirements.
- Basic knowledge of shipping incoterms, and ability to raise shipping documents for exports.
- Able to arrange British Returns, IPR & OPR processes for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Fully conversant with import and export CPC codes.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Deputise and assist other team members in the absence of the Stores and Logistics Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience shipping role
- Knowledge of raising export documents
- Ability to identify and implementation of correct HS codes
- GCSE or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of MS Windows
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Full understanding of C88 & E2 customs documents
