Accounts Supervisor

We are looking for an Accounts Supervisor to supervise the A/P, A/R team and general accounting to ensure the reporting of timely, accurate and reliable financial information and assist the Finance Controller in development and improvement of systems and quality of information produced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct activities of AP / AR functions including weekly reviews of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Produce and develop KPI’s for transactional team.
  • Responsible for Monthly A/R ageing reports and ensure timely collection and payment of monies.
  • Manage DMN (Defective material notice) accounting process
  • Oversee monthly and mid-monthly payment runs providing payment commentary to Group office
  • Creation and submission of monthly VAT returns, Intrastat and EC Sales.
  • Reconciliation and checking of Monthly accounts payable trial balance reports
  • Reconciling sub-ledger to General ledger on a monthly basis
  • Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee Fixed asset register and administer capital approval process including investment/ profitability analysis for new purchases
  • Assisting Controller with annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting and Year End audit activities
  • Establish and monitor procedures and policies designed to regularly report project financial information
  • Interface with all departments to determine requirements for and proper use of financial information.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

You will be responsible for directly leading a team of 5 staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of three years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  2. Part Qualified (ACCA/CIMA)
  3. Strong double entry accounts experience
  4. Good Excel skills
  5. Computer literacy, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
