The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems, and body structural components; the design, engineering, and development of lightweight composite automotive systems, and the limited-volume build of specialty vehicles.

POSITION SUMMARY:

 The Financial Analyst will assist the Controller in the assessment of company performance by studying and analysis of financial and operational data. They will be expected to act as a catalyst in the continuous improvement process by supplying analytical support to the operational areas.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in preparing month-end reports (AR, Inventory, Controller’s Comments)
  2. Maintain accurate inventory & project costing, including fixed assets management
  3. Monthly reconciliation of all AR-related GL accounts
  4. Review total cost management and perform variance analysis of production & OH accounts.
  5. Assist in preparation of year-end audit package and actively participate in the preparation of the annual budget and reforecast
  6. Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  7. Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
  8. Analyze short- and long-term cash flows and assess financial performance
  9. Ensuring all invoices are forwarded to the customers in a timely manner
  10. Ensure payments are processed in a timely manner
  11. Responsible for daily posting of production & GL
  12. Process employee expenses for Payroll on a monthly basis
  13. File monthly HST and quarterly UK VAT
  14. Work closely with Program Managers on program updates
  15. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Within two years of completing CPA designation
  2. Have a minimum of three years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive parts manufacturing facility is a definite asset
  3. Are capable of and possess above-average written, analytical, and oral communication skills.
  4. Are computer literate, with a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel), and experience working with a menu-driven accounting package.
  5. Have the ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in the organization
  6. University Degree in Business.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to converse with associates at all levels.
  8. Extremely analytical and highly organized.
  9. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing, overhead application, costing principles, inventory management, and controls.
  10. Knowledge in SAP is an asset.
