Quality Auditor

Location: Multimatic Ride Dynamics, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada

Position Overview:

Multimatic Ride Dynamics (MRD) is one of the newest of Multimatic’s North American divisions. Multimatic Ride Dynamics is looking for a Quality Auditor who will assist with responding to customer and supplier quality issues on assigned programs. Conducts random sampling dock audits in the shipping area, regular equipment pokayoke audits utilizing red rabbit samples where applicable and receiving inspection of components. Day and Afternoon shift available. 

Plant Location: Multimatic Ride Dynamics - 1100 Stackhouse Road, Newmarket, ON, L3Y 8E4, Canadaa

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work alongside quality engineers to determine the key characteristics to be audited.
    • Participate in problem solving and corrective action for assigned programs.
    • Be familiar with part drawings and specifications of assigned programs.
    • Assist in the implementation of new engineering changes for assigned programs.
    • Advise management of all potential problems or concerns detected through audit activities. Work with necessary personnel to offer any opportunities for improvement.
    • Conduct and report out all findings discovered through dock audit activities, process audit activities, and product audit activities to the Operations Team & Quality Engineers.
    • Perform detailed equipment pokayoke checks on a regular basis.
    • Notify team leaders and maintenance personnel of failing pokayoke checks. Provide guidance for parts already produced.
    • Verify pokayokes after repairs are made and reset equipment cycles as applicable.
    • Perform receiving inspection on components as required
    • Inform area supervisor or manager responsible of product or process non-conformance.
    • Create quality alerts when necessary and conduct/record operator training for the alerts and post them at the workcenters.
    • Assist with containment activities where necessary.
    • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
    • Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
    • Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
    • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.

Education and Experience:

    • Completion of a post-secondary graduation is an asset.
    • 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, or a similar manufacturing environment.
    • Good understanding of concepts including internal audits and process audits.
    • An ASQ, CQE/CQA/CQT certification is an asset.
    • Excellent problem solving techniques.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization including customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, and engineers.
    • Excellent knowledge of the assembly department equipment.
    • Proficient computer skills (i.e. excel, word).
