Financial Analyst

Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC) is part of Multimatic’s Engineering Group. MTC provides advanced design, simulation, testing and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), niche vehicle manufacturers, motorsports organizations, military equipment contractors and consumer products companies.

MTC houses key engineering, testing and development capabilities under one roof, enabling rapid turnaround and tight integration between departments (vehicle systems engineering, production engineering, predictive methods, product testing and validation, composites, fabrication and prototyping). Additional specialized services utilize MTC’s full-vehicle multi-post test rig, and a proprietary vehicle dynamics simulator. These services are further enhanced by the capabilities of a fully-equipped motorsports department.

Scope of Position:

Assists  Controller in increasing company profitability by studying and improving the systems which track and report financial data, and by creating, studying and improving the systems that drive, interpret and analyze management information systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating month end activities,
  • Responsible for coordinating the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts,
  • Responsible for preparation of the monthly financial statements, assists in preparation of financial budget and projections,
  • Assists in liason with Department Managers and the General Manager with financial and operational  information,
  • Display equity, leadership and training (directly or through courses) to build an effective team,
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity and timeliness of financial information,
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset reporting,
  • Daily monitoring of cash, AR and AP ,
  • Assists with the coordination of divisional Q.O.S.,
  • Responsible for the financial administration of suppliers,
  • Assists with the development of annual business planning,
  • Assists with the coordination of year-end activities,
  • Responsible for preparing government statistical reports,
  • Support and encourage KAIZEN principles, concepts and activities,
  • Encourage GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals,
  • Submits training needs to HR as determined from departmental needs and employee evaluations,
  • Ensure that all personnel are working in a safe and efficient manner,
  • Perform other duties as required (i.e. special projects).

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a university degree in a relevant field
  • CPA accounting designation completed or in progress
  • Three to four years accounting experience, of which two years is in a project driven Engineering (or related professional) environment with exposure to direct costing in an MRP environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (advanced excel skills); proficiency in and experience with SAP preferred
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees and thrive in a diverse,  fast-paced team environment
  • Above average analytical, written, and oral communication skill
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple conflicting deadlines
