Position Overview:

Multimatic Mechanisms is looking for a Group Program Manager who will report to the Director of Business Development, and be responsible to support Director, Group Program Management (P.M.) & Business Development (B.D.) on global programs as well as managing cross-functional teams to support all aspects of a successful program from development to launch, including timing, engineering, testing, quality and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Director, Group P.M. & B.D. to establish & implement group strategy- short, mid & long term.
  • Manage core Program Management team to ensure smooth functioning of global programs.
  • Support Director, Group P.M. & B.D. to establish & implement APQP guidelines, standardized RASIC, standardized APQP processes & procedures to ensure smooth functioning of program launch(es) at division(s).
  • Develop resource plan & review with management team to support new / pre-mature divisions pro-actively or to support successful launch of global program(s), as required.
  • Review program OIL on periodic basis. Raise flag to relevant management team member at appropriate time based on gap / variance analysis.
  • Support and Train divisional program management team (globally), as needed.
  • Communicate APQP information to customers, suppliers, sales and plant personnel.
  • Manage TGW/TGR activities at group level to ensure awareness of issues at working level team.
  • Actively participate in program milestone review meetings / provide input following MM standard APQP Processes or best practices.
  • Interface with divisional AQP / Quality Department and oversees the preparation of on-time completion of Phase Reviews, PPAP documentation and review submissions.
  • Manage Program kick off meeting & assign tasks to relevant team members for global programs.
    Manage & coordinate Product Development Activities, as required.
  • Coordinates purchased components kick off and approval for relevant assigned programs.
  • Oversee kick off and approval of new/modified tooling / fixtures / equipment for relevant assigned programs.
  • Participate in the specification, sourcing and negotiations of assembly and tooling contracts for program along with Process Engineering for relevant assigned programs.
  • Initiates and coordinates all new program release and engineering changes per the production ECN system for assigned program(s) as required.
  • Must ensure the containment of new processes and parts until production is stabilized and there are no customer issues for assigned program(s) as required.
  • Must be involved in DFMEA, PMFEA, DVP&R, FEA, Product drawings, Identification of key characteristics, control plan and design review processes for assigned program(s) as required.
  • Customer interface- (Project Engineering, Customer Engineering, Customer Purchasing). This includes the “Statement of Work” and team feasibility / Risk assessment for assigned program(s) as required.
  • Conducts program milestone reviews, tracks open issues and reports the status along with corrective actions to the GM and Director, Group P.M. & B.D. on a periodic basis for relevant assigned programs for assigned program(s) as required.
  • Act as a program manager for program assigned by Director, Group P.M. & B.D., as needed.
  • Track and control development costs (FSS) as well as product costs for relevant assigned programs.
  • Support President’s Message.
  • Adopt, practice, support and encourage KAIZEN and GEAR activities.
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must be able to travel, when required.

Education and Experience:

    1. Must have Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent experience/background.
    2. M.B.A. in project management stream / P.M.P. is an asset.
    3. Minimum 8+ years of auto industry experience with 5+ years of program management experience is a must.
    4. Must be able to read and fully interpret Engineering Drawings and Standards (Applicable GD&T knowledge preferred).
    5. Intermediate computer skills in Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Microsoft Project, Internet, Flowcharts, and an understanding of Databases, CAD, software.
    6. High level of organizational skills required.
    7. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively interact with outside customers, suppliers, and all levels of employees internally.

Frequent travel and fluency in English is required.
