SUMMARY

Performs MIG weld repairs to various metal parts that were not properly welded during the robotic welding process, performs repair welding to in process and finished goods, while ensuring quality standards within the plant are achieved with the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
  • Ability to safely and efficiently perform all MIG welding repair assignments
  • Responsible for following all established company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for inspecting all welded parts and identifying any suspect weld defects
  • Perform all functions of manual repair welding operations, including; shielding gas setup, wire changes etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality of repair welds meet customer requirements
  • Responsible for following the escalation procedure when unsure of quality issues
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction, and provide clear communication to co-workers and supervision
  • Review process book daily for new quality or process changes and be responsible for any changes or countermeasures put in place
  • Perform minor troubleshooting, minor machine repair, and basic preventative maintenance as instructed
  • Assist other Production Operators with production duties as needed
  • Ensure all production paper is filled out completely and accurately
  • Participate in corrective action or continuous improvement activities when necessary
  • Ensure all quality standards are met as required by the process books and inspection instructions
  • Responsible for reworking product as required
  • Be available to attend future training as deemed necessary for this position
  • Performs loading, unloading, and assembly operations as required by the assigned machine
  • Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor or designee

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate machinery
  • 6 – 12 months prior experience with manual MIG welding metal parts (preferred)
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with manual MIG welding including, but not limited to, possessing a steady hand, achieving speed efficiency to sustain line production, while consistently achieving required quality of workmanship
  • Able to pass post-training examinations for position required training
