Assembly Technician

Position Overview:
Multimatic Technical Centre Europe (MTCE) provides engineering and product development services to Multimatic manufacturing facilities worldwide. Across the globe, MTCE is also a leading contract engineering and vehicle development resource to major automotive OEMs, motorsports teams, and a growing number of niche-vehicle manufacturers. The majority of products developed are for high-volume automotive applications, and include hinges, door checks and powered mechanisms (mechatronics.)
Due to diversification and growth in MTCE's niche-component manufacturing business, a dedicated TS16949-certified, low-volume assembly facility has been established within the Hethel Engineering Centre in Norwich in support of emerging technologies such as mechatronics, structural carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP), and road-car Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers.
For that new facility, MTCE is currently seeking to recruit an Assembly Technician who will be responsible for building various suspension, mechatronics, and body-closure subassemblies for the automotive OEM industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Building subassemblies following supplied drawings/instructions
- Following build manuals and quality control processes
- Assembling and fitting components to automotive modules
- Fabricating templates and jigs to facilitate assembly
- Working in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive subassembly environment
- Consulting on and resolving quality issues as they arise
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will:
- Have good manual dexterity, with the ability to move between projects
- Be a self-starter able to work unsupervised
- Be a problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
- Work to current TS standards keeping good records of all work carried out
Training will be provided, as required.
Not necessary, but advantageous:
- Holding a valid forklift license
- Experience on manual mills
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience in electrical/mechanical assembly
