Release Analyst

Location: Multimatic C-Mech, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada

Multimatic C-Mech is seeking a Release Analyst to ensure components and required services are available to fully support production requirements. This position will report directly to the Inventory Manager.

Scope of Position

This position is responsible for maintaining an accurate and organized system pertaining to expediting incoming purchased parts and releasing materials to meet production requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for releasing material to meet production requirements.
  • Responsible for material (steel, components and outside processing service) releases to meet production requirements, including scheduling transportation for collections as necessary.
  • Expedite incoming material as required.
  • Issue new blanket and update/amend PO’s as changes become effective, and ensure suppliers have appropriate drawings and documentation.
  • Coordinate new material requirements and maintains effective supplier communications.
  • Coordinate and conduct physical inventory verification versus MRP indicated quantites, in-house and at outplant locations.
  • Organize and document freight.
  • Issue component releases to suppliers as required using MRP/EDI/SAP.
  • Participate in new product launch and engineering change activities to support flawless launch results.
  • Follow all procedures where applicable.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of OHSA and the regulations.
  • Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Multimatic requires to be used or worn.
  • Report to manager or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware and which may endanger yourself or another worker.
  • Report to manager or supervisor any contravention of OHSA or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which you know.
  • Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by Multimatic, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
  • Not use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger yourself or any other worker.
  • Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
  • Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  • Perform other duties as required (ie-special projects).
  • Work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 3 to 5 years direct experience in vendor releasing in Tier 1 or 2 of automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Prefer experience with a large variety of supplied products
  • Prefer experience with overseas suppliers
  • Must have SAP, MRP, EDI experience.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Previous Materials/Purchasing experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy and a sound knowledge in MS Office, Excel and Outlook is an asset.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and organizational skills
  • Related education preferred including CPIM, or Supply Chain Management
