Materials Supervisor

Multimatic Inmet manufactures fully engineered, high quality components, assemblies and systems such as bumpers and chassis/body structural components for high volume vehicle manufacturers.

Multimatic Inmet is currently looking for a Materials Supervisor who will report to the Operations Manager, and be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the Materials function to ensure that the needs of the customer are met. This member of the Materials team plays an important role in the company’s commitment to supplying superior quality parts, on time, to our customers.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop cycle count program from previous years Physical Inventory results, missing inventory and perpetual inventory adjustments – create schedule for audits, direct cycle counter, follow up with results and recommend corrective actions to better inventory accuracy
  • Create and develop material stock storage locations – evaluate point of use against storage to optimize factory efficiencies
  • Learn Scheduling to be back up for vacation coverage (Press & Assembly)
  • Advise Operations Manager of any potential problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Meet or exceed all objectives/requirements of the business plan.
  • Follow up on correspondence with Inmet’s Customers and Suppliers as required.
  • Utilize MRP software system to extract information to increase turns and optimize run patterns
  • Closely monitor Vendors or Suppliers delivery performance
  • Supplier development through DMN system - including evaluating non-conformances, tracking corrective actions and preparing reports for Operations Manager to review
  • Ensure good working relationships are maintained with vendors and suppliers to ensure continued good will and smooth inter-company transactions
  • Participate in Physical Inventory
  • Maintain the confidentially of the company and its business.
  • Keep informed on the latest changes to Customs Procedures and inform other department and employees of any changes
  • Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety rules and housekeeping principals. Ensure substandard conditions and practices identified in monthly plant safety audits are corrected.
  • Works in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards
  • Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Community College Diploma or a University Degree. A professional designation in either Materials or Purchasing (CPIM or APIC)
  • Three (3)+ years Materials experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of Purchasing and MRP systems.
  • Must have strong background in SAP
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees both within the organization and with, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
  • Strong computer skills in the area of: Manufacturing Control Systems, Windows, MS Office programs, with heavy emphasis on Excel.
