Composite Technician - Trim and Assembly
Location: Multimatic CFT, Wymondham, Norfolk, United Kingdom
Position Overview:
Multimatic CFT Limited (MCFT) based in Wymondham is part of the Multimatic Group. MCFT specialises in the design and manufacture of precision carbon fibre reinforced components for motorsport teams (including F1) as well as the wider automotive industry. MCFT also engineers and manufactures a range of tooling and components for the aerospace and communications industries.
Due to continued expansion, MCFT is looking for Trim and Assembly Technicians who will be responsible for trimming, fitting and assembly of complex composite structures utilizing various construction methods.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle composite materials and tools in a safe manner and follow safety procedures
- Route, trim, drill and sand composite components to supplied drawings
- Abrade, clean and bond composite components using adhesives
- Build assemblies of composite parts using mechanical fasteners
- Follow build manuals and quality control processes
- Fabricate templates and jigs to facilitate assembly, trimming and bonding
- Consult and resolve quality issues as they arise
Basic Requirements:
- Comfortable using common hand tools and air tools
- Able to interpret basic instruction via detailed drawings / instructions
- Able to work to tight tolerances
- An understanding of engineering drawings
Desirables:
- Experience in composite industry
- Basic understanding of composite component construction is an asset
- Experience in auto body repair and finishing is an asset
- Ability to organise and prioritise
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Flexible schedule to accommodate shift work if required
