Scope of Position:
To carry out driving activities using company vehicles for the delivery and collection of parts and vehicles. The Driver/Stores Operative must positively represent the company at all times when out on the road and when interfacing with customers and suppliers. The Driver/Stores Operative will also assist with loading/unloading of vehicles and general stores duties when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering and collecting a wide variety of items including car body shells.
- Following delivery driving routes and time schedules
- Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle(s)
- Completing logs and reports
- Handling of heavy items and parcels
- Driving safely and following all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Keeping company vehicle(s) clean and carrying out regular vehicle safety checks (lights, fluid levels etc)
- Ensuring any schedueld maintenance requirements (servicing, brakes etc) are flagged in time to the appropriate person to be completed when required
- Communicating with customers to update them on time delivery timings or schedule changes
- When not delivering, supporting in the stores
Skills & Experience:
- Must be able and confident to tow a car transporter trailer (B Category on your license)
- Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
- Valid driver’s license
- Good driving record with no traffic violations
- Good IT skills
- Administrative capabilities
- Stock management
- Delivery of products
- Stock taking
- Shipping and receiving practices.
Personal Requirements:
- Flexibility to support overtime/out of hours work (evenings & weekends)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must possess a positive and professional attitude
- Excellent communications skills, polite at all times with customers and suppliers
- Presentable with clean appearance
