Treasury Analyst

Location: Multimatic Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada

Overview:

Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer online banking portals including adding, amending and deleting users
  • Prepare bank account documentation for new accounts, services and closing of bank accounts
  • Handle inquiries from divisions for banking services or cash management needs
  • Analyze monthly bank fees
  • Prepare and analyze daily consolidated cash position
  • Confirm and settle foreign exchange trades along with tracking outstanding trades and reporting on monthly MTM position
  • Prepare treasury related journal entries
  • Deploy and maintain best practices and sound internal controls in all day to day cash activities and treasury operations.
  • Administer letter of credit program including applications for new letters of credit, amendments to or cancellation of existing letters of credit, and reporting
  • Provide assistance to the global insurance program
  • Provide assistance with electronic cash flow report development
  • Provide assistance with implementation of budgeting and planning module of GL system
  • Provide assistance during external audits, including bank confirmations
  • Continuously identify and recommend automated processes and solutions
  • Support project work as requested by management
  • Assist with quarterly financial covenant reporting as it relates to the company’s debt facilities
  • Maintain and track working capital metrics to optimize structure.
  • Continuously learn about treasury best practices and contribute to the improvement and design of treasury processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Treasury’s policies and procedures
  • Prepare daily investments
  • Support Scotia Visa program
  • Coordinate interest payments on intercompany loans
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of treasury experience
  • CTP or in process of obtaining CTP
  • Prior experience with online banking portals
  • Prior experience with foreign exchange hedging
  • Working knowledge of general ledger applications, SAP and One Stream an asset
  • Prior experience preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships, internally and externally
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to roll up ones' sleeves to get the job done.
  • Able to handle a variety of assignments
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Able to develop ideas on how to improve processes
  • Organized, accurate, detailed oriented, and takes pride and ownership
  • Strong work ethic, highly responsible for meeting deadlines, and dedicated focus on task execution and completion
  • Works well independently, a problem solver, and takes initiative to get things done without being asked
  • Works well in a team-oriented multicultural environment and adapts readily to different personalities
  • Professional communication etiquette required

Software experience:

  • Ability and willingness to learn to use various computer applications that are necessarily to perform day-to-day tasks
  • Experience in Oracle SAP, OneStream and Hyperion are highly preferred
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint is required
