Position Overview

The candidate will be responsible for organising import/export clearances, raising export documentation for overnight couriers and freight forwarders, arranging same day UK shipments & maintaining accurate record of Inbound and outbound shipments. The candidate needs to be up to date with new procedures and legislations to ensure that shipments are not held in customs and shipping notifications are sent to relevant stakeholders. This role is also key in supporting the Logistics manager to ensure that all shipping documents are kept in order for HMRC audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issuing Import clearance instructions to freight forwarders.
  • Checking import entries & issuing post entry amendment instructions when required
  • Proactively progress post entry amendment requests to a conclusion
  • Maintaining import log (excel format)
  • Monthly reconciliation of MSS data reports (import & export)
  • Commodity classification
  • Raising export documentation (invoices, Pack Lists, EUR1 certs, etc.)
  • Issuing export instructions to freight forwarders and couriers
  • Archiving import & export documentation and working with various departments across the business to integrate Customs processes within the Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Receive deliveries from couriers, ensuring box count and paperwork match accordingly.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014).
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  •  2 years’ experience in an administrative/shipping role
  • Knowledge of raising export documents
  • Knowledge or understanding of Customs entry documentation (Import & Export)
  • A good standard of written and spoken English
  • MS Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • To be able to work in a team environment
