Position Overview:

Anton Manufacturing is a production facility of Multimatic Inc. and is a leading supplier of stampings, hinges, door checks and mechatronic products to the North American automotive industry. Anton Mfg. uses flexible production systems that allow rapid product changeovers, helping drive manufacturing efficiency.

Anton Manufacturing is looking for a Process Engineer who will report to the Press Manager, and be responsible for improving the competitiveness and profitability of the company by ensuring timeliness and continuous improvement in current and future programs.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Responsible for developing packaging specifications and instructions

    1. Participate in the sign-off process of new tooling.
    2. Responsible for updating the building layout for the Press Shop, Tool Room and Press Maintenance.
    3. Responsible for developing setup, last off, and changeover instructions/ procedures.
    4. Responsible for continuous improvements on new/existing equipment.
    5. Responsible for safety issues on the equipment.
    6. Responsible for time studies, and delay studies on tooling.
    7. Responsible for developing Operator instructions, Job procedures, and Job instructions.
    8. Creates and archives electronic documents following the department guidelines for naming and saving protocols.
    9. Responsible for saving and archiving run rates.
    10. Maintain facility stoppages using an open issues matrix. Creating rework instructions and action plans in a timely manner.
    11. Participate in continuous improvement cost-savings program.
    12. Work in a safe manner at all times.
    13. Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
    14. Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the GENERAL PROCEDURES section of the level III Procedure manual.
    15. Follow all DEPARTMENTAL GENERAL PROCEDURES as well as procedures for this position as indicated in the level III Procedure manual.
    16. Perform other duties as assigned.
    17. Work in compliance and conform to TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Toolmaker or Mechanical Engineering Degree or Five years’ experience in a related field.
  • Good knowledge of production scheduling systems in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health and Safety, Environment, Employment Standards, Fire code, Canadian Standards Association, etc.
  • Good Technical Report writing abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
  • Computer skills in the Microsoft Office, Solidworks, Key Creator and Master Cam
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to meet deadlines & goals
