Quality Assurance Engineer - Composite and Paint Processes

Position Overview:

Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer with an expertise in Composite and Paint processes. The Quality Assurance Engineer will effectively develop and lead cross-functional process improvements in an automotive manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will initiate internal continuous improvements and quality projects, while facilitating corrective actions internally and with external suppliers effectively on a regular basis. The Quality Assurance Engineer will perform visual inspections and well as mechanical and functional verification of parts and vehicle to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with relevant local Health and Safety legislation and company Health and Safety Policies
  • Identify internal and external quality problems as they arise and take initiative to make data driven recommendations for resolution and improvement
  • Identify and record any issues relating to the product, process and quality system and initiate action and resolution to prevent occurrence of non-conformity
  • Responsible for initiation of containment activities and development of containment method
  • Control processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until deficiency or issue has been corrected
  • Create quality documents in compliance with Multimatic’s quality system requirements
  • Travel outside of Canada (specifically USA - assuming no restrictions), therefore a valid passport is required.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential material
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage, coordinate and prioritize several assigned project activities with flexibility within a fast-paced challenging environment and facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive experience in OEM(s), Tier I & Tier II environment, with strong knowledge and understanding of fit and function, assembly process and technical competencies
  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of composite substrate process, paint process quality with technical aptitude, preferably 5 years’ experience
  • Product knowledge of multiple commodities not limited to interior, exterior, suspension, structural, carbon, paint etc.
  • Understanding of structured quality problem solving tools and documentations
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of PPAP, PCP and PFD will be an asset
