Human Resource Generalist

Multimatic Anton. is looking for a Human Resources Generalist who will assist in the Human Resources Department.

Duties:

  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment (on-boarding and off-boarding), including creating, posting, and managing job advertisements, screening and arranging interviews with candidates, and conducting reference checks.
  • Update employee files in HRIS system for new hires, changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations.
  • Conduct training including (WHMIS, Worker Health & Safety Awareness, etc.)
  • Tracks and files all employee-related documents i.e. Performance Warnings, Reviews, Policy Sign-offs, etc.
  • Provides general Administrative Support such as preparation of general letters i.e. employment verification, transfer/promotion, and leave letters.
  • Ensure that annual hearing tests are completed and hearing conservation methods are followed.
  • Liaison with fire safety consultants on safety issues including fire evacuation procedure and drills to be completed as necessary
  • Participate in the execution of annual Employee Survey
  • Responsible for the administration of the employee benefit plan, including fielding employee questions and annual re-enrolment
  • Assists with the management of the Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Accommodation, and Benefits programs.
  • Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, keep records of the same and submit reports to WSIB.
  • Provides intake and assessment advice to the HR Manager regarding employee issues and their impact on performance. Determines root causes of issues and recommends appropriate plans for resolution.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise according to Company Policy, ESA guidelines, and Human Rights.
  • Schedule and provide agenda to participating managers for monthly employee meetings.
  • Liaison with the Health and Safety Representative to ensure schedule, attendance, and record-keeping of regular Health and Safety committee meetings.
  • Ensure that plant housekeeping/safety audits are conducted as required.
  • Liaison with Kaizen teams, trainers, external consultants, cross-divisional Kaizen co-ordinations as required
  • Work in a safe manner at all times
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
  • Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
  • Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the GENERAL PROCEDURES section of the level III Procedure manual.
  • Follow all DEPARTMENTAL GENERAL PROCEDURES as well as procedures for this position as indicated in the level III Procedure manual.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Work in compliance and conform to QS9000, TS16949, and ISO14001 standards.

Requirements:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods
  • Ability to coach employees at all levels through difficult situations, ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues using judgment consistent with the organization's preferences and priorities
  • Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
  • Ability to handle all levels of employee discipline including termination.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
  • Computer skills in the area of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with TS16949/ISO14001 systems an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • CHRP Designation or working towards one is an asset.
