Scope of Position:
To coordinate engineering data and information throughout the business, maintain and develop systems and procedures and distribute information regarding engineering changes throughout the company. To accept and process engineering data received by the business and to distribute engineering data to customers and suppliers in a controlled manner. To ensure all engineering files are kept up-to-date and stored correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate record retention.
- Maintain an accurate archiving system.
- Accept and process engineering CAD data received by the business.
- Distribute engineering data to customers and suppliers.
- Coordinate drawing release activities.
- Distribute documents for review and approval through e-mail.
- Enter new part numbers, BOMs and routings in SAP.
- Maintain information in SAP as required.
- Act as the administrator for the Inventory Management System
- Administer the document control system for reference manuals and specifications.
- Review, develop and approve engineering and data control systems as required.
- Manage and update the engineering library.
- Provide training, guidance, and assistance to colleagues as required.
- Assist with document preparation, distribution and filing (DFMEA’s, prototype control plans, performance specifications etc.).
- Attend training courses as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proficient in MS Office particularly Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be familiar with industry standard Windows applications
- Must be able to work independently
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with CAD software and data formats
- Experience with BOM creation and administration
- Experience with SAP or similar inventory management software
- Knowledge of PLM systems
