Facilities Maintenance person

Specialties include suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, mechanisms and mechatronics.
MTCE is currently seeking to recruit a Facilities Assistant with a range of skills to join the facilities and maintenance team. Sound knowledge of health and safety, along with practical hands-on experience is key in this role. The successful candidate will be part of our busy facilities team, helping to maintain and repair our main site in Thetford and keep to a good standard.
- Support with the maintenance of plant, equipment, and buildings to ensure compliance with relevant statutory provisions, minimisation of equipment downtime, care of equipment to maximise life expectancy and efficiency.
- Contact and schedule contractors as needed.
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks and checks, as well as dealing with non-routine repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Maintain efficient communication methods to ensure the team can work efficiently and that production managers are aware of issues with accurate timescales which are likely to affect production.
- Assist with specific activities e.g., building fit out, introduction of new machines or processes etc.
- Maintain control of all contractors on site, ensuring they are accurately briefed and inducted.
- Assist with ongoing best practice for all related activities e.g., scrap metal, wastes, PPE, cleaning consumables, production gases, coolant & oils etc.
- Identify relevant training needs to ensure you are current on the range of equipment used within Multimatic e.g. Forklifts.
- Assist with H&S systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the H&S Manager with meetings, audits and training.
- Carry out any other duties which may from time to time be reasonably requested to assist in the day to day running of the company.
- Ensure all company standards are promoted and maintained.
- Ensure safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure commitment and application of the company Environmental, Quality and HS Policies.
Basic Requirements:
- Forklift licence
- Flexible approach to work tasks
- Multi skilled
- Proactive approach to building maintenance
- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Ability to read, write and speak English
