Multimatic Technical Centre ("MTC"), located in Markham, Ontario is a division of Multimatic Inc. MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions while also providing contracted engineering services to a variety of customers. The facility has design, analysis, testing, prototype, composites, and motorsports departments.

MTC has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. This growth was achieved through the skill and dedication of our employees. MTC has an industry leading prototype development centre that relies on its highly talented and skilled staff.

Our prototype development centre is looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator who will be responsible for programing and set up of various 3 axis CNC machines. Typical machined materials include aluminum and steel parts, and production tooling components for the automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Programming CNC code from provided CAD data utilizing Mastercam X software
  • Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required
  • Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required
  • Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
  • Ensuring that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met
  • Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
  • Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary diploma from a technical college and/or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience on 3D cad/cam system
  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of metal cutting and machining process
  • Strong problem solving techniques
  • Production tooling experience an asset
  • Ability to read blue prints
