CNC Programmer/Operator

MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions while also providing contracted engineering services to a variety of customers. Our prototype development centre is looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator who will be responsible for programing and set up of various 3 axis CNC machines. Typical machined materials include aluminum and steel parts, and production tooling components for the automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programming CNC code from provided CAD data utilizing Mastercam X software
- Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required
- Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required
- Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
- Ensuring that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met
- Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
- Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary diploma from a technical college and/or university
- Minimum 3 years of experience on 3D cad/cam system
- Minimum 5 years knowledge of metal cutting and machining process
- Strong problem solving techniques
- Production tooling experience an asset
- Ability to read blue prints
