IT Internship or Co-Op

Position Summary:

We’re offering an Office IT Co-op/Internship and looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. This position will support our IT department providing customer service and answering requests for current employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical assistance to users within an office environment this includes but is not limited to;

  • Support and/or resolve computer problems for users in person or when they are remote/traveling,
  • Setting up Active Directory accounts,
  • Providing users access to printers,
  • Answering user requests for access
  • Provide hardware and software recommendations, including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and/or services to management
  • Provide support for the office Local Area Network (LAN) as required
  • Provide support server environment as required
  • Maintain computer inventory (in and out of use)
  • Understanding and support of hardware/software life cycle refresh
  • Participate and or lead information gathering, requirements and analysis
  • Knowledge/support for phone system (Avaya), including new user set up
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi systems and configuration

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Working towards a Computer Science, IT administration or other relevant technical undergraduate degree from accredited university
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry is also a plus

Additional responsibilities:

  • Ability to work alone and prioritize tasks as required
  • Follow all Multimatic Product Services policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Competency:

Computer Skills:

  • Must have advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook software.
  • Understanding of Vsphere and working with VmWare.
  • Knowledge of Zoom
  • Competent with using Active Directory
  • Some Linux knowledge
  • Knowledge of HP computers

 Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Individual must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers and customers.

 Physical Demands/Work Environment:

The ability to work in an office environment, which could include sitting or standing for the majority of the day.  Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material on an infrequent basis.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
