  1. Position Overview:

Multimatic Anton is the original production facility of Multimatic Inc. and a leading supplier of hinges, door checks and innovative user-convenience products to the North American automotive industry. Multimatic Anton uses flexible production systems that allow rapid product changeovers, helping drive manufacturing efficiency.

Multimatic Anton is looking for a Quality Engineer, with a preferred Electrical and Mechanical Engineering background, to establish the initial quality parameters and to maintain quality documentation and customer support throughout the life of the part/program.  Experience with SPC, MSA, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP and ISO/IATF 16949 is required, Work is complex in character and requires strong analytical skills and a broad knowledge of all company products. Work is performed under little or no supervision. Performs other duties in support of Quality Department goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

    1. Attend drawing review meetings to scrutinize the design, accuracy, specifications and feasibility of meeting the customer’s requirements.
    2. Attend Preliminary/ Ongoing program review meetings and actively participate in ensuring the timing and feasibility of meeting customer’s requirements.
    3. Attend ECN Meetings and update the appropriate documentation, visual aids etc. to meet the ECN PPAP date.
    4. Review CMM reports for dimensional, MSA and Initial SPC studies for new programs in preparation for Customer PPAP.
    5. Coordinate any unique studies, as required, for their assigned programs and as a result of Customer Complaints, Internal issues etc.
    6. Support the activities and subsequent documentation for Customer PPAP submissions.
    7. Review the Supplier PPAP submissions and forward to the Assistant QA Manager for approval.
    8. Coordinate the development and issuance of all levels of Control Plans including Prototype, Pre-launch and Production.
    9. Participate as part of a cross-functional team in the development and issuance of all levels of FMEA’s. [Process FMEA’s]

       

  • Education and Experience:

    1. Possess a University/College Technical background or equivalent.
    2. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering background is an asset
    3. Previous training and experience in statistical methods and measurement systems analysis [MSA].
    4. Previous working experience with Control Plans, PFMEA’s and PPAP’s.
    5. Working knowledge of computer software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
    6. Previous experience in the automotive industry.
    7. Previous Supervisory or Quality Engineering background would be beneficial.
    8. Knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 Quality systems.
    9. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, suppliers and all levels of employees and departments in a multicultural environment.
    10. Ability to read, write and speak English
