Quality Technician - Night Shift
Location: Multimatic Inmet, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada
Multimatic Inmet manufactures fully engineered, high-quality components, assemblies and systems such as bumpers and chassis/body structural components for high-volume vehicle manufacturers.
Position Overview:
Multimatic Inmet is currently looking for a Quality Technician - Nights who will act as the principle liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups; audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects relating to quality, and be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
- Problem solve (work with operations on shift to determine root cause of material on hold and make the appropriate changes to limit the amount of material placed on hold)
- Understand and be able to run parts through PC-DMIS software package(training will be provided)
- Conduct destructive testing of the weld (draw cup) for correlation studies and as needed
- Put a hold on non-conforming materials (use inventory management)
- Sort through non-conforming material as necessary to aid in disposition
- Perform all capability studies and analyze process variances
- Run all extra testing required as part of validation process after quarantine
- Perform control plan audits; work with engineers to update as needed
- Perform Process/Product and LPA Audits
- Repair and issue gauges to production as necessary
- Ability to generate new form/work instructions/check-sheets
- Assist the Quality Manager and Quality Engineers as assigned
- Ability to train Operators, to perform quality verification according to IP (Inspection Plan)
- Ability to supervise necessary sort/ rework activities.
- Works in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.
- Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA
Basic Requirements:
- Post secondary diploma from a technical college
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment within the automotive industry
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Solid understanding of Stamping & Welding processes
- Good understanding of the principles and concepts of Statistical Process Control
- Excellent problem solving techniques
- Excellent knowledge of Assembly department and press department equipment
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization (customers, suppliers, sub-contractors)
- Computer skills in the area of Word & Excel and other databases
- Previous metrology experience and CAD desired
- Must be able to work night shift (10:30PM-6:40AM)
