Suspension Product Engineer

Multimatic Product Services (MPS) specializes in providing product engineering and account management support internally to company business units and externally to the customer base. Position Summary:
Multimatic Product Services is seeking a highly motivated Suspension Product Engineer who will utilize product design engineering and automotive experience to provide product engineering and account management support to business units and customers related to development and engineering of control arms, ball joints and bushings for the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and account management support to business units and customers relating to the product development and engineering of control arms, ball joints and bushings
- Maintain an exchange of engineering information within and between the company and its customers
- Responsible for cost, weight attributes and program timing
- Foster healthy working relationships with the company’s customers via reliable local presence
- Support of external customer program engineers in their responsibilities
- Support of internal Technical Service Managers and Product Engineers
- Generate internal engineering reports including sales correspondence and meeting minutes
- Outline issues and properly present them at platform meetings
- Attend customer meetings and act as a customer liaison to address customer and company requests
- Manage open issue lists and engineering changes and proposals
- Initiate RFQ’s and resolve manufacturing issues related to product development
- Participate and assist with cost saving initiatives to meet annual targets
- Coordinate inspection and analysis of warranty return parts
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
- 2 years’ automotive experience as a product design engineer
- Experience in FEA, FMEA analysis and processes to troubleshoot and replicate problems
- Experience in root cause analysis, product development and validation testing
- Experience with ensuring compliance with design practices in accordance with applicable regulations
- Knowledge of engineering tools and processes including, including, DVP & DFMEA, PPAP
- Understanding of GD&T principles
- Less than 10% travel to internal manufacturing locations in Canada and client sites
