Position Overview:

Multimatic Niche Vehicle Assembly Europe (MNVAE), located in Coventry UK, is a world-class facility responsible for the production of future bespoke vehicles. MNVAE is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure cars are produced to the highest quality to satisfy the most discerning customers. You require an eye for detail, an understanding of engineering and you are driven to continuously improve product, and the company's quality system and processes. You will ensure the timely flow of high-quality product from raw material to finished goods, as well as the proper handling of non-conforming material. You will have excellent interpersonal skills as you will interface and influence all business functions as well as suppliers to review quality delivery and process adherence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual appearance inspections as well as mechanical and functional verification of parts and assembled cars to specification and quality standards.
  • Can inspect sub-straights and finished products for paint defects including colour  which need attention/repair to bring them up to the required quality standards.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
  • Engage cross-functional teams to resolve any quality issues including engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, MP&L
  • Use 8D structured problem solving to ensure issues are resolved promptly and lessons are learnt to prevent re-occurrence
  • Participate in problem solving and root-cause analysis
  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
  • Review/approve PPAP submissions and maintain documentation in an organized manner
  • Comply with all ISO9001/TS16949, ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSA (Health and Safety) systems and standards

Education & Experience:

  • Mechanical Engineer or ASQC Quality Engineer certification
  • A Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an automotive OEM or supplier quality environment
  • Experience of meeting niche vehicle paint requirements.
  • Working experience with Automotive Customer Specifics including AIAG requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of PPAP and Process Sign-Off
  • MS Office user.
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Management System, ISO9001/TS16949
  • In-depth blueprint reading, CAD data, and GD&T knowledge
  • Able to use a Faro arm and Polyworks for measurements purposes would be an advantage
  • Must be able to legally work in the UK without sponsorship

Must be able to travel within and outside of the UK as required
