Corporate Human Resources Manager

Multimatic Inc. is a privately held Canadian corporation headquartered in Markham, Ontario, supplying components, systems and services to the global automotive industry.  Multimatic's core competencies lie in the manufacture of stampings, welded assemblies, mechanisms, and suspension components, as well as the design and development of automotive body/chassis systems. 

Reporting to the Corporate Director, Human Resources, this position serves as a key strategic business partner for our global operations. This role will partner with Group Human Resources Directors, senior operational management and corporate employees to provide direct support and guidance on a diverse range of topics. This role will be viewed as the human resources leader and expert in all functional areas with an emphasis on talent acquisition, leadership development, employee relations, employee engagement, succession planning, immigration and health and safety.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Responsible for all areas of Human Resources including:
    • Employee performance, recognition and retention
    • Leadership development
    • Employee engagement
    • Employee succession planning
    • Employee recruitment and onboarding
    • Compliance and risk management
    • Compensation
    • Benefits plan design and administration
    • Employee relations support – including internal dispute resolution, disciplinary actions, counselling, exit interviews and analysis
    • Immigration
    • Employee communications
    • Policy and guideline development and interpretation
    • Creation and presenting employment agreements
    • Health, Safety and Environment
    • Labor market analysis and wage/benefits surveys
    • Data collection and reporting of human resources KPIs
  • Responsible for providing human resources services to all levels of employees. 
  • Coach and train management and supervision in areas of human resources, including effective employee performance management, alignment and engagement of employees, and overall talent management.
  • Direct involvement in the creation of leadership development/planning programs
  • Serve as a member of the senior management team, actively participating in strategic and operational discussions.
  • Review all human resources activities and prepare summary reports for Corporate Director, Human Resources, and other members of the management team.


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or Business related degree preferred
  • Currently in a HR leadership position with responsibilities in talent acquisition, leadership development and succession
  • Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in challenging senior HR positions with deep knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Hands-on experience working in a global organization and operating in multiple countries
  • Strong knowledge of employment law
  • Experience working across multiple site locations with the ability to travel locally and internationally
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management
