Position Overview:
Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC) is part of Multimatic’s Engineering Group. MTC provides advanced design, simulation, and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), niche vehicle manufacturers, motorsports organizations, military equipment contractors and consumer products companies.

Multimatic Technical Centre is seeking to recruit an elite group of Motorsports Mechanics who will be part of a core team working on assembly of the Ford GT supercar. Reporting to the Motorsports Manager, and working within an exciting and dynamic vehicle development and engineering shop, you will be responsible for the assembly, testing and repair of advanced components, complex sub-assemblies, electrical subsystems and the build of complete vehicles.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who desires a hands-on experience with high performance engines, advanced composites, the latest in automotive technology, and has a passionate interest in automobiles and motorsports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive assembly environment
  • Building sub-assemblies following supplied drawings
  • Following build manuals and quality control processes
  • Assembling and fitting components to prototype and niche vehicles
  • Troubleshooting electrical wiring harness, connector and sensor issues
  • Consulting on and resolving quality issues as they arise
  • Problem solving, as necessary
  • Must be organized and work in a safe manner, following safety procedures in an automotive assembly environment
  • Training is provided as required

Education and Experience:

  • Experience with automotive assembly/repair
  • Experience in automotive electrical troubleshooting (preferably Ford systems)
  • Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and follow build instructions
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment; meet tight deadlines
  • Day shift with schedule flexibility to accommodate occasional overtime and some weekend hours
  • Basic computer skills are required, familiarity with Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Experience in light fabrication is an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing environments in an asset
  • Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and abroad from time to time
