Multimatic Technical Centre ('MTC'), located in Markham, Ontario is a division of Multimatic Inc. MTC has a comprehensive development team supporting Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions while also providing contracted engineering services to a variety of customers. The facility has design, analysis, testing, prototype, composites, and motorsports departments.

MTC is seeking to recruit someone to provide Logistics Support. In this role, the successful candidate will work with the logistics/sales coordinator and shipping/receiving department to facilitate logistics coordination as well as the shipment and receiving of goods (anything from individual automotive components, to complete vehicles, to race trailers full of products, equipment and race cars). These tasks need to be performed according to established company and customer standards in a responsible and efficient manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Logistics:

  • Arrange and book carriers for domestic and international shipments (LTL, Air, Ocean)
  • Obtain appropriate information for shipments; weight, measurements, etc.
  • Create BOL, shipping labels, bar codes, etc,
  • Prepare all required shipping documents; FedEx, LTL, etc.
  • Prepare all required customs paperwork; Commercial Invoices, NAFTA, etc.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments via external carriers.

Shipping/Receiving:

  • Prepare shipping/bill of lading reports
  • Package goods appropriately for shipping (when required)
  • Collect and log all shipments
  • Verification of received shipments to purchase orders
  • Inspect condition of goods received
  • Create receiving documentation when not available

Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate

Education & Experience Requirement:

The ideal candidate for this role will have 2 years logistics experience and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge and experience applying NAFTA Regulations and Tariff Codes
  • Knowledge and experience using the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) program and familiarity with a range of customs documents is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience preparing Electronic Manifests for Canadian and US shipments
  • Automotive industry experience is an asset
  • Two years logistics experience is required
  • Must speak, read and write fluent English
  • Be able to demonstrate advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel)
  • Be self-motivated and work under limited supervision
  • Have the ability to work in a busy environment
