(Lead) Structures / Analysis Engineer
Location: Multimatic Engineering Germany, Affalterbach, Germany
Position Overview:
Multimatic is a global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. Multimatic Engineering, a division of Multimatic Inc., provides advanced design solutions, testing and prototyping services to Multimatic’s production divisions and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), niche vehicle manufacturers and motorsports organizations. Multimatic manufactures the Ford GT supercar, and its extensive list of products includes Formula 1 racing components.
Multimatic currently seeks a (Lead) Structures/Analysis Engineer to run and coordinate FEA activities on-site at the customer.
Customer Facility Location:
Affalterbach, Germany
Duties and Responsibilities:
Continue to build an established strong relationship with the customer. Develop and evaluate models for components, assemblies and full vehicles. This will involve constructing FEA models, performing simulations, reviewing requirements, engineering calculations, and recommending design improvements. Provide results in both formal written reports and as presentations. Throughout the development process, the Engineer will have to work closely with the customer and other Multimatic departments (Design, Prototype, Composites, Testing, etc.).
Education, Experience, and Capabilities:
- University degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, mechatronics, or automotive engineering)
- Experience with analysis of a variety of Daimler body and vehicle systems
- Knowledge of FEA tools (HyperWorks, Ansa, Nastran, OptiStruct, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Medina, Animator and/or similar)
- Knowledge of MIDAS is an asset
- High level of interest in automotive engineering
- Teamwork skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Must have a valid driver’s license, valid passport and be prepared to travel internationally when required. Initial training in the UK
